Fifth grade students at Corridor will begin the process of state online testing beginning Monday, December 10. We will be testing in math on Monday and Tuesday and in reading on Wednesday and Thursday. Please be sure your child(ren) get adequate sleep and come to school nourished. Testing always goes better if kids are well rested and well fed.
Last spring state testing came to an abrupt stop due to conflicts with our previous vendor. A new vendor is providing the testing experience and we are excited to try it out. We are committed to giving children their best chance possible of meeting or exceeding state standards. As such, students can have up to three chances to meet or exceed standards. Only the best score of all their attempts is counted for each subject.
We will use information/data gathered from this first round of testing to guide us in helping kids achieve standards on future attempts. Please remind your child(ren) that state testing is a way to demonstrate progress toward state standards and that it is important to give their best effort.
If you have any questions regarding state testing, please contact Tom at 687-3165.
